IP Casino Resort Spa Served Up Victory at Annual Shrimp Cook-Off & Festival

In October, IP Casino Resort Spa took home the gold in the fourth annual Gulf Coast Shrimp Cook-Off & Festival in Biloxi, Mississippi. Six local restaurants and catering companies showcased their culinary talents and unique tastes, all competing for a cash prize.

 

During the event, chefs were tasked with cooking shrimp samples across three categories—pasta, house specialty and people’s choice—all served buffet-style for the community to enjoy all-you-can-eat style. The dishes were then scored based on flavor, presentation and creativity. IP’s Food and Beverage team served up Shanghai Shrimp from tien with sliced garlic, red chilies and scallions and Shrimp and Pasta Scarpariello from thirty-two with Italian sausage, fennel, picholine olives, cherry peppers, San Marzano tomatoes, white beans and grilled rustic sourdough. The people’s choice award was then presented to IP for their high volume of ticket sales and array of offerings at the venue.

 

When asked what this recognition meant to him, Executive Sous Chef, Matt Kallinikos, said, “We are proud to bring fresh flavors from our backyard to locals and visitors of the Biloxi area. We look forward to the annual Cook-Off every year and hope to welcome some new faces to IP to experience the flavors of our award-winning restaurants.”
